Overview

Packara is a native macOS application for code signing, notarization, and DMG packaging. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

When you purchase a license or use our services, we may collect:

  • Your email address (for license delivery and support)
  • Your order number from our payment provider (we never see or store your card details; payment is handled entirely by the provider)
  • License key usage data (activation counts and associated device identifiers)

Information We Do Not Collect

Packara processes your Apple credentials (Developer ID, notarization credentials) entirely on your Mac using the macOS Keychain. These credentials are never transmitted to our servers. We do not collect, store, or have access to your Apple ID, app-specific password, Team ID, signing certificates, or the contents of any app you build.

How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver your license key via email after purchase
  • To validate and manage license activations
  • To respond to support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate our business:

  • Payment processing: Your payment is handled by our payment provider. We receive only a transaction confirmation and your email address, never raw card data.
  • Email delivery: License keys and transactional emails are sent via a third-party email service.
  • Database: License records (email, key, activation count) are stored in a secure, hosted database.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing their handling of your data.

Data Retention

We retain your email address and license data for as long as your license is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to support your purchase history. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS) for all data in transit and encrypted storage for data at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of non-transactional communications
